Custom Commands (Prefix Commands)

Create and manage custom classic prefix commands (e.g. !test, !rules, !support) with multi-actions, rich embed builder, and fine-grained permissions.

Overview & Mechanics

The Custom Commands module enables you to create and manage custom prefix commands for your Discord bot directly from the web dashboard without writing any code. These are exclusively classic prefix commands (such as <code>!test</code>, <code>!help</code>, <code>?info</code>) – not slash commands. Commands run with high-performance timestamp caching, server isolation, and full markdown and embed support.

Supported Actions

  • Reply in current channel (reply_current_channel): The bot replies directly in the text channel where the user triggered the command.
  • Send to predefined channel (send_channel): The bot posts the formatted response into a designated target channel (e.g. #announcements or #support).

Dynamic Placeholders (Variables)

You can insert dynamic placeholders in your plain messages and across all embed components (title, description, footer, fields):

Variable Description Example Output
{user} / {member} User mention with tag @JohnDoe
{display_name} Server display name of the user JohnDoe
{user_id} / {member_id} Unique Discord user ID 1012365016357425162
{guild} / {server} Name of your Discord server Unitycord Community
{channel} Mention of the current text channel #general
{member_count} Total server member count 1,450

Permission System & Access Control

Every custom command features role-based and channel-based access restrictions. The golden security rule is: <strong>Denials always strictly override allowances!</strong>

  • Allowed Roles / Channels: Only members holding at least one of these roles or executing inside allowed channels can use the command.
  • Denied Roles / Channels: Members holding a denied role or executing inside a denied channel are strictly blocked.
  • No Restrictions: Leaving permission fields empty makes the command globally accessible to all members.

Step-by-Step Dashboard Setup

  • 1. Navigate to Section: Open the dashboard, go to Embeds & Modules, and select the 🔗 Custom Commands sub-tab.
  • 2. Create Command: Click the + Create Command button at the top right.
  • 3. Set Trigger & Name: Enter an internal command name (e.g. 'Help Menu') and your trigger (e.g. !help).
  • 4. Design Embed & Response: Choose your action type, customize plain text, embed title, description, accent color, images, and dynamic fields with live preview updates.
  • 5. Set Permissions & Save: Enter optional role/channel IDs and click Save Embed Settings.

Management & Toggling

You can toggle commands on/off, edit, or delete them instantly from the command list without restarting your bot.
